Exporting Modified Themes

A very useful improvement for Publii would be the ability to export modified themes for backup in a zip archive with the ability to reinstall them.

Absolutely! I totally agree with this suggestion. The ability to export and reinstall modified themes as a zip backup would be a game-changer for Publii users. I really hope the Publii developers consider implementing this feature in future updates. It would save so much time and effort! 👍

Have you tried to zip your theme folder under /Publii/themes, put it somewhere and install it as a new theme from the new location?

This is a possible solution, but when changing (updating) or creating a new theme, it is convenient to use the theme-override folder. This folder accumulates certain files that Publii processes. The idea is that it would be very good if Publii had the ability to archive a new or modified theme without the theme-override folder. This would significantly save time preparing the theme for backup, reinstallation, and would reduce the size of the archive.
And if there was also an opportunity in the Publii interface to change the theme version, its name, or some of its parameters, it would be really cool!
