Why use Publii instead of web-based CMS? #2428

Hello, I'm looking at the options to self-host a blogging site at home that outputs generic HTML for maximum performance on a low-end devices eg. Arduino. To make an informed choice, I'd like to know why I should use a desktop-based solution like Publii that pushes HTML to a web server instead of using a web-based solution. Thank you. |

"Publii is an intuitive Static CMS that gives you the freedom platforms can't — complete control over your content with zero compromises. No database vulnerabilities, no platform dependencies, no tracking scripts — only exceptional security, lightning-fast performance, and a clean workflow. Built for GDPR and CCPA compliance from the ground up, Publii respects your visitors' privacy by default. Build locally. Publish globally." |

@Shohreh instead of using your Arduino and exposing something in your home network to potentially malicious actors on the internet, I would suggest using Publii to create and maintain your blog site, then publish the HTML and push it to Cloudflare pages/workers. Cloudflare's free tier would do everything you need for the hosting and you don't have to worry about security, getting ddos'd, downtime, maintaining your hardware, etc. You can also configure their free tier to block things like many AI scrapers, etc. |
