Description
Access Denied when downloading files from HHS/HMIWGS/ subdirectory
Dataset: Human Microbiome Project (HMP)
Registry URL: https://registry.opendata.aws/human-microbiome-project/
S3 Bucket: s3://human-microbiome-project/
Problematic Path: HHS/HMIWGS/
Description of the Problem
I am unable to download files from the s3://human-microbiome-project/HHS/HMIWGS/anterior_nares/ directory. While listing the contents of the directory (aws s3 ls) works as expected, any attempt to download an individual file using aws s3 cp or aws s3 sync results in an "Access Denied" or "Forbidden" error.
Steps to Reproduce
aws s3 ls s3://human-microbiome-project/HHS/HMIWGS/anterior_nares/SRS013956.tar.bz2 --no-sign-request
2014-05-19 15:49:34 26099775 SRS013956.tar.bz2
aws s3 cp s3://human-microbiome-project/HHS/HMIWGS/anterior_nares/SRS013956.tar.bz2 . --no-sign-request
fatal error: An error occurred (403) when calling the HeadObject operation: Forbidden
aws s3 sync s3://human-microbiome-project/HHS/HMIWGS/attached_keratinized_gingiva/ . --no-sign-request
download failed: s3://human-microbiome-project/HHS/HMIWGS/attached_keratinized_gingiva/SRS013946.tar.bz2 to ./SRS013946.tar.bz2 An error occurred (AccessDenied) when calling the GetObject operation: Access Denied
download failed: s3://human-microbiome-project/HHS/HMIWGS/attached_keratinized_gingiva/SRS014473.tar.bz2 to ./SRS014473.tar.bz2 An error occurred (AccessDenied) when calling the GetObject operation: Access Denied
Attempts to use web interface have same effect.
Tried to access through https://42basepairs.com/download/s3/human-microbiome-project/HHS/HMIWGS/anterior_nares/SRS011132.tar.bz2 with no luck
Could the maintainers of this dataset please review and correct the object-level permissions for this path to allow public downloads, consistent with the rest of the dataset?
Thank you for your time and assistance.
