Container crashes silently on specific image with memory limit (300m+)

Tried running shumc/imagor docker container with memory limits:

docker run -p 8000:8000 --memory=300m shumc/imagor -imagor-unsafe -imagor-auto-webp

I thought 300m would be plenty, but with this image it just fails silently:

localhost:8000/unsafe/fit-in/200x200/filters:fill(white)/https://static1.nordic.pictures/56019367/original.jpg

Is this expected? We process millions of images and sometimes it crashes even with 900m+, but this is the only reproducible case I have right now.

It is expected that most processes that gets killed by the OOM killer terminated immediately and don't get the opportunity to log anything new because that would probably mean that it needs to allocate new memory.

You can the when the OOM killer kills a process in the kernel log.
