Feature description

Is there anything blocking from adding iOS builds on GitHub releases?

Alternative solutions

The only possible solution for me would be to build the app from source and sign it, though I'm not sure the latter is allowed by Mullvad (?)

The whole code is open source, so if you want to build it yourself, you can, we even have Build Instructions for that purpose.

Do note that since this is a VPN app, you will need special entitlements from Apple to get the correct permissions to run the code on your device.

The main reason we don't do iOS releases on GitHub is because users would have no way of checking whether this is what we released on the App Store or not. We do get audited every now and then though.

Finally, there is a very good article explaining why that is the case, so I'm just gonna quote it here.

App Store Distribution builds are actually re-signed by Apple prior to deployment, so generally are not installable on our devices with signatures we can issue.
