Gendered rape / sexual assault data, by policing area:

• Home Office data for England and Wales:
  • Rape incidents and crime data … ending March 2024 → Table 22: Number of reported incidents of rape and police recorded rape crime data, police forces in England and Wales, 2023/24
  • Police recorded crime open … March 2013 onwards → Table 2024_25 (or 2023_24) → pull out the rows where “Offence Description” == “Sexual assault on a female aged 13 and over” or “Sexual assault on a female child under 13”
• Recorded Crime In Scotland is ok as we are just treating Scotland as one big “policing area”:
  • Table A2: Crimes recorded by the police under the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018, by female/male victim, 2019-20 to 2024-25
  • Table A5: Rape and attempted rape and sexual assault recorded by the police, by gender of victim, Scotland, 2015-16 to 2024-25
  • (Contains local authority-level counts by category, but the categories are gender-less)

Where possible, it’d be great to pull out historical data, so we can show change over time. But if that’s too tricky, just the latest year is fine.

I’ve not yet found a source for similar data in Northern Ireland.
