We don't provide official support for any boards. There have been some boards added in the past, but there won't be any more added. Using the board name is even deprecated now. You are encouraged to just specify the |

Someone could create a page here though and show example configurations: https://devices.esphome.io/ |

I had claude create a page for the heltec v3, still in PR atm here is the preview: https://deploy-preview-1330--esphome-devices.netlify.app/devices/heltec-wifi-lora-32-v3/ |

Thank you very much for this help. I was about to give up on integrating a remote relay using LoRa with the help of two Heltec boards into Home Assistant. My knowledge is limited, and the task, under these circumstances, can be exhausting. I hope to finish the task with this information.

Describe the component you'd like
Hello ESPHome Team and Community,
I would like to request official board support for the popular and highly affordable Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V3 board.
What are your use cases for this component?
The Heltec LoRa 32 V3 (based on the ESP32-S3 chip) is an excellent, low-cost device for creating remote, long-range wireless sensor systems (LoRaWAN/LoRa).
Currently, to use this board with ESPHome, users must configure it as a generic esp32-s3-devkitc-1 and then manually look up and define all the peripheral pins (OLED, LoRa radio, VEXT power control). This is complicated, error-prone, and a barrier to entry for many users.
Is there a public datasheet, documentation and/or schematics?
No response
Anything else?
The request is to add a dedicated board definition for the heltec_wifi_lora_32_v3 (or similar name) into the ESPHome builder/codebase.
This official definition should automatically configure the necessary pins, including:
MCU: ESP32-S3
LoRa Chip: SX1262 (SPI, reset, busy, etc., pins)
OLED Display: I2C configuration (SDA/SCL pins)
Power Control: VEXT pin to control the power to peripherals.
It's important to note that the community has already done significant work, which should make this integration easier:
LoRa Component: The necessary LoRa support (sx126x component) is already implemented in ESPHome, or is available as a robust external component and is nearing full core integration.
High Demand: Multiple community discussions show users attempting to manually configure this board, indicating a high demand for official, plug-and-play support.
Providing official board support would make this powerful and cost-effective device readily available for use in the Home Assistant/ESPHome ecosystem, particularly for advanced remote sensing applications.
Thank you for considering this request.
