Describe your idea
People might want to look at Kookbridge Energy panels which have all public APIs, no registration, login or even internet required to use them.
Why is this exciting?
Much easier for 3rd party programmers to contribute; much better thought-out panels with passive cooling (no fan noise) no bricking by failed software updates; one fail-safe button reverts to a regular non-smart panel, separate split phase busses for grid and back-up inverter that allow both to be used at once; can configure for self-consumption rathee than grid-tie and avoid need for connection permission or terrible NEM3.0 tariffs
Potential use cases
Maximizes use of own free solar as available while reserving battery for power outages and everything that is not on solar is on grid so every circuit is powered normally.
Anything else?
In a prolonged grid outage it sheds battery load to keep priority circuits alive to the bitter end.
