This issue is likely related to your hardware, not home assistant. For example, I have zwave and zigbee lights and I've never encountered this issue in the 10 years I've been using HA. |

Describe your idea
The most annoying thing I encounter is lights that are not responding to a command. If you have a lot of lights in a room, there is always 1 or 2 or 3 that just dont want to listen to the command. It is super annoying. So I wrote a complete app daemon app to control my lights and take it out of the regular HA flow, this works a lot, seriously a lot lot better as we can actually check on state, color, brightness and everything else and if a state isn't what is commended, it will resend the command again and retry several times and give an alert if after 4 tries with time delays it still refuses to react. This work 99% of the time compared to standard HA behavior 20% of the time.
how is it possible that no other people complain about this HA behavior, as lights is the first thing people try out and after it fails time and time again, you just dont trust HA any longer, not a great way to get people to use it. The logic in HA to handle lights is just flawed. This can be done so much better with checks and retries.
other automations dont suffer from this flaw, its really a light only issue that should be the first and foremost point for HA to resolve!! Hope it puts someone on ideas. Always available to share my code.
Greetings from Belgium!!
Why is this exciting?
Because lights never ever all react to the command HA sends them!! Which leaves you with 1 or 2 or more lights burning. And many cards , like popular mushroom are useless than as you can't send the command again as lights are still showing as on, while they are actually off. Biggest pain in the ass that is.
Potential use cases
Everyone would benefit every single user and potential user
