Describe the add-on or add-on enhancement
Hey guys, so I've been using the frigate addon with a Hailo8L on an RPI5. All working well.
I came across this project, to also use hailo devices for whisper, and on attempting to run both simultaneously got an error, that the device was in use.
This is down to how both addons create a VDevice and use it, essentially locking it up.
From looking at the Hailo forums it's possible to use their scheduling to run more than one model simultaneously.
The problem I see is that the OS addons are containers, that will have no concept of how to share a device.
Ultimately, if this was to work it would need the orchestration layer to live in the OS (or Core possibly), so that the addons could essentially see the device as a service, and be able to use it freely. At present the addons do that themselves.
I am not a python developer (I come from a dotnet background), but if someone were able to point me in the right direction I'd be happy to put in some leg-work on this.
Use cases
Any future addons that can use the Hailo ai chips (or possibly other chips) would benefit from being able to use the devices simultaneously.
