WebDav, CalDav, Files #69
-
Describe your ideaI wish Home Assistant could integrate as a WebDav server. I'm using Ubuntu 25.04 and Windows 10 & 11. The features would be useful to be able to utilize Home Assistant calendar, contact, or file sharing that integrates with most modern systems. Why is this exciting?I'm actually surprised it isn't a feature yet. Using Home Assistant as a centralized access point for devices, you would think that it would simplify and improve the functions of Home Assistant. You could have access controls for which devices get what kind of sharing: calendar, contacts, and files. Potential use casesNo matter what device I was on I could sync my calendar, contacts or files between any device. It would integrate with Windows, Linux, Mac, Android and Apple using the WebDav protocol. This would also allow for sharing with others as well if security measures provide granular control. I could share files with colleagues for version control, or share any one of my calendars with any contacts. Anything else? |

You're looking for a collaboration software like the open source nextcloud or the proprietary Synology DSM (or most other consumer NAS operating systems) |
