Animation terribly hangs in Mozilla Firefox if firebug is opened

Moon Phase visualizer demo works fine in firefox as long as firebug is not opened. If the firebug is opened, the demo terribly slows down. Even if the firebug is closed, the speed of the demo remains slow.

Tested in firefox 35.1 in ubuntu 14.04
