Prevent Input mapper keybinds loading at startup?

I created a set of keybinds for the game "Valheim." The keybinds are loading even when I don't start Input remapper and the only way to get normal keyboard function is to start Input remapper and stop the injection.

How can I stop Input remapper from loading these keybinds when the computer starts? (honestly this part doesn't even make sense, because the keybinds are loading even before input remapper is started)

Hi @pookshuman, are you sure that the Autoload toggle for Valheim preset is disabled in the Input Remapper app? When it is disabled, the entry should not appear on your configuration file at ~/.config/input-remapper-2/config.json.

The service input-remapper starts at boot, as part of the install script at README.

Thank you, disabling autoload worked.

But that raises another question: Why is the program loading at startup? In order to start the program, it needs my admin password. I dont see any settings in the program or the config file for start at boot options.

I'm glad that worked!

Loading at startup is the default behavior of a system service. However, I'm not sure if the service input-remapper checks for the user configuration file before the user logs in. It is probably looking for a configuration file in the root directory.

If you want input-remapper to start after the user logs in, you can enable it as a user service:

systemctl --user enable input-remapper
