Workaround for using avatar animations with FBT

Raphii edited this page Sep 21, 2024 · 2 revisions

Why would I want to use this?

If you use OyasumiVR to turn off your trackers, and then want to switch to using its sleeping animations, this workaround is for you.

What is the problem?

If you are using full body tracking and your trackers are then turned off, your avatar has to be reloaded before any locomotion animations become usable again. This affects the type of sleeping animations that change your pose, like those provided by GoGo Loco.

The issue is that VRChat does not reload your avatar automatically after your trackers have turned off, and instead requires some user interaction, like opening your quick menu. In case you have OyasumiVR turn your trackers off while you're asleep, this will result in your avatar pretzeling up, until you do something that prompts VRChat to reload your avatar.

What does it do?

When this workaround is enabled, OyasumiVR will simulate you opening and closing your quick menu when it detects all your trackers have been turned off. This should coerce VRChat into reloading your avatar, so that you can continue to use locomotion animations after your trackers have been turned off.

What else can I do about it?

This issue has been submitted to VRChat on their feedback page. You can help out by upvoting it, so that VRChat may hopefully one day prioritise it and fix the issue, so that this workaround will no longer be necessary.
