New requirements:

  • PyOpenGL
  • libprojectM-4 >= 4.2 (not yet released)

Todo:

  • Base support
  • Next random (click)
  • Unlocked FPS + Counter
  • Auto advance shuffle
  • Remember last preset on reboot
  • Separate menu from pic menu
  • Provide curated preset pack + Auto DL
  • Album art burn in (waiting on upstream support)

Platform Status / Notes
Arch Linux Talked to the maintainer, as I understand it, we'll ship libprojectm as 4.x in the near future, while keeping projectm at 3.x.
MSYS Made a request here: msys2/MSYS2-packages#5862
brew Someone would need to pick this PR back up, the issue with it will supposedly be easier to debug in 4.2: Homebrew/homebrew-core#198257
Ubuntu (CI) Yeah no, they're still at 2.x for 26.04, I think we'll be screwed there. There is a PPA for 3.x at least - https://launchpad.net/~trinitronx/+archive/ubuntu/projectm - sent the maintainer an email about updating it
